Frequently asked questions
How big is the team you send?
In most cases, we send a team of two experienced movers. This is usually more than enough to handle a typical 'Man & Van' service. For moves it oviously depends on the size of the move as to how many vans and movers we send. This will normally be discussed and agreed at the time of survey and quotation.
I'm only moving a few miles, can I put my pet in the van?
Unfortunatley, we are not allowed to transport pets, even if they are secured in a travel carrier. Even if the delivery location is not too far from you old address.
Are there any additional charges should I have to cancel the service?
No charge is incurred if you were to cancel the 'Man & Van' service with more than 48 hours notice. There is a scaled fee for cancellation should this be within the 48 hours.
What insurance does C2C Movers offer?
C2C Movers offers insurance which entitles you to have your items either replaced or repaired or for you to be offered financial compensation for any lost or destroyed item, at the Insurer’s option and subject to the terms and conditions of the insurance policy.
How is this different from liability insurance?
Many removal companies offer indemnity insurance for your goods whilst in transit. If you choose this then you will only be paid the second-hand value of goods that are lost or destroyed rather than having them replaced as new.
Does C2C Movers offer protection for my premises either at origin or destination?
C2C Movers offers extended liability protection for accidental damage to premises in the UK and Ireland.
Who values my goods?
It is your responsibility to estimate the value of your goods. The value advised to insurers must be enough to replace your goods as new so it's always a good idea to compare values in retail outlets to ensure your estimate is the right estimate. For instance, the bed you bought five years ago for £600 may have increased in price to cost £1000 to replace today.
What happens if I under-insure?
If you insure for less than the full replacement value of your goods at risk then, any claim you make could be scaled down. For example, if your goods are insured at £25,000 but the true value is £50,000 you will only receive half the amount of any claim you submit for the loss or damage of goods.
What happens if I have to make a claim?
Your claim details will be passed to the insurers' appointed claims handling agents who will process your claim in accordance with the terms of the policy. If you want to make a claim you will need to notify C2C Movers within 7 days of delivery. If you would like to know more about the insurance policies we offer, contact us now.
